Children’s Day is licensed by the NJ Office of Licensing to serve
children between the ages of 2 ½ to 7 years of age.
To accommodate, we offer several programs:

Young Preschool / Toddler Program 2 ½ to 3 years old

Designed with working families in mind, the program is open 12 months a year, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Our small classroom serves up to 12 children in a nurturing, developmentally appropriate environment where children can learn, play, build relationships, and develop the skills they need for preschool and beyond.

Enrollment Options

Families may enroll in our Young Preschool Program through:

Private-Pay Enrollment
Families who live or work in Passaic and surrounding communities may privately enroll their child in the program. Private enrollment is a great option for working parents looking for a high-quality, full-day preschool experience with extended hours and year-round care.

New Jersey Child Care Assistance Program
Eligible families may receive assistance with tuition through New Jersey’s child care subsidy program, administered locally by 4C’s of Passaic County. Eligibility and family co-payments are determined based on state requirements, household income, family size, and other qualifying factors.

Our Family Services team can help families understand the application process and connect them with 4C’s; however, final eligibility and subsidy amounts are determined by the administering agency.

NJ Preschool Program

Children’s Day contracts with the Passaic Board of Education’s Early Childhood Department to provide the NJ Preschool Program to 105 three and four year old children who live in the City of Passaic.  Children in the NJ Preschool Program must meet strict Passaic City residency requirements.  This program is a 6 ½ hour-a-day program that follows the Passaic Public School Calendar.  There is no fee for the NJ Preschool Program; although children are expected to remain at the Center for the full 6 hours (8:00am to 2:30pm).

Collaboration with Passaic Family Head Start

For the past 20 years, Children’s Day has collaborated with Passaic Family Head Start to provide additional services to our children and families. Currently, 75 of our NJ Preschool children are also designated as Head Start Families, as they meet the Federal criteria for the program. The increase in funding helps Children’s Day to provide enhanced services to all of our children and families.  Children’s Day meets all Federal, Head Start guidelines as part of their collaboration with PFHS

Wraparound Program (School Year)

From September to June, we offer a WRAP Program to all NJ Preschool children.  The program is offered so that working parents are able to start as early as 7am and can stay at the school until 5:30pm. Most days that the public school is closed (such as spring break), we are open for children enrolled in this program.

Working families can apply for a voucher through 4C’s to pay for all (or a portion) of the school year and summer WRAP Programs. Some families are assessed a weekly co-payment fee that is based on income and family size. 4C’s of Passaic County administers this voucher program, and they have final determination regarding eligibility and dollar amount of fees.  Families who do not qualify for the state voucher, can privately enroll their child in the WRAP program.  Please refer to our downloadable rate sheet below for more details.

At this time, we are also able to offer the WRAP Program (school year and summer) to children in Kindergarten and/or 1st grade (up to 7 years old).  Transportation is not provided.

Children’s Day Preschool admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin, or any protected class, in the administration of its educational policies, admission policies, scholarship, and other school-administered programs.

Summer Program July/August

Our Summer Program provides children with a safe, nurturing, and engaging place to spend their summer while giving working families dependable full-day care. Children enjoy a variety of age-appropriate activities that encourage creativity, movement, social-emotional development, and continued learning throughout the summer months. Summer experiences may include outdoor play, water activities, arts and crafts, music and movement, themed learning activities, picnics, scavenger hunts, and special classroom events.

Our Summer Program is available to eligible current families as well as private-pay families looking for high-quality summer care in the Passaic area.

Families can feel confident knowing their children are spending the summer in a familiar, supportive early childhood environment with experienced staff.

Enrollment & Tuition

Summer enrollment is based on available space. Private-pay rates and subsidy options may be available depending on family eligibility.
