Today we have a fun and simple art activity that you can try at home with your little ones, and all you need is an outdoor space with a concrete or stone surface, a cup of water, and a brush to paint with! But if you prefer to stay indoors, you can easily swap out the concrete or stone surface outside for a chalkboard or a piece of construction paper!

Don’t have a brush at home? No worries - we’ve got you covered! We’ve provided a handy how-to guide from Babble Dabble Do so that you can make your very own DIY brush with a few things you might have at home! If you don’t have a clothespin we recommend using a stick, pencil, or something similar as the handle to your brush, and securing your brush piece with tape or a rubber band!

Once you’ve gathered up all of your supplies, head outside with your child and pick a nice spot to get started on your next art piece! Ask your child to paint whatever they’d like, and be sure to ask them about their creative process! As your paintings begin to dry up you can ask your child why they think the water dries up and ask them about the sun!

YOU CAN’T USE UP CREATIVITY. THE MORE YOU USE, THE MORE YOU HAVE.
