PROGRAM
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
In addition to an Abbott
Preschool program (contracted by the Passaic Board of
Education) that serves 90 three and four-year old resident
children, our Center provides a Division of Family
Development subsidized Young Preschool (2 ½ years old)
educational program for 27 children.
Eligibility
Requirements:
Young Preschool Class:
We accept 27 children between
2 ½ and 3 years of age for this program. Families must meet DFD eligibility criteria:

proof of wages that
meet DHS family size and income limits, and
-
proof of parent engagement in full-time work, higher
education, or job training programs.
Qualifying families who live in Passaic receive priority
consideration for all program openings over families who
live in neighboring communities.
Abbott Preschool Program:
Participation in this program
is free of charge. Children must meet the following
eligibility criteria in order to enroll in the New Jersey
Department of Education funded Passaic City Abbott Preschool

Enrollment in this North
Jersey 4C’s subsidized voucher program provides childcare
during the hours before and after the six hour Abbott
Preschool Program, full day care when Passaic Schools are
closed, and full day care during July and August.
Participation is open to all income eligible Abbott
families.
Parent fees for the full cost of care are only assessed to
families with incomes that are higher than the DHS limit in
place during the current school year.
